Why I wrote this book
Life is a classroom, Quotes of a Woman Bent Not Broken was born from the true grit of living life, not only as a mother at a young age but as a Black woman in this CLASSROOM we call life. A life that has been riddled with laughter, joy, blessings, prosperities, heartache, pain, and betrayal. However, through it all, it paved the way for me to accept that I could not have survived nor had the will and strength to continue on without the grace and mercy of God. When I accepted that I had to let go and trust what I could not see, feel, touch or taste, in that moment, I began to WALK BY FAITH…
During this classroom of life, I was blessed to raise my four heartbeats, obtain several advanced degrees, create several businesses and become what some would say is successful. However, as I would later learn in life as, I grew into womanhood, success is dependent on the individual’s reality and outlook. For me, success is learning who I am as a person, as a woman, as a mother, as a sister and a friend. This book is meant to be empowering for both women and men from all walks of life. I want you to know that no matter what YOU CAN MAKE IT and IT’S GOING TO BE ALRIGHT. I want you to know that sometimes, all it takes to feel better, to feel strong; is just the RIGHT QUOTE…
This book isn’t a novel or love story. It’s a book of empowerment, motivation, love, strength and compassion built from having a relationship with God and acknowledging all that he has bestowed upon my life. Acknowledging that there is a higher power at work beyond what any of us could possibly comprehend for God is not finite but infinite.
My prayer is that this book offers the motivation and help where it is needed.
REMEMBER, MAKE YOUR NEXT MOVE
YOUR BEST MOVE…☺
A Journey from Ashes to Anointing Life is a sacred classroom.
And I am both the student and the survivor.
I wrote this book not because I had all the answers, but because I have lived through enough to know that rising isn't a one-time thing—it’s a daily decision. Like a Phoenix I Rise was born out of fire: heartbreak, betrayal, spiritual warfare, and hard-won victories. I’ve felt the sting of loss, the ache of loneliness, and the weight of expectations. But I’ve also felt the hand of God lift me up, again and again.
This journal is my offering to those navigating their own ashes. It’s for the woman who forgot her worth. For the man silently fighting battles no one sees. For every soul yearning to heal, rise, and reclaim their light. It’s for those who’ve had to forgive the unforgivable, walk away from what broke them, and trust in a divine order bigger than what they can see.
Throughout these pages, I’ve poured out truths forged in fire. My reflections are reminders that relationships require honor, that faith is not a feeling but a force, and that forgiveness is freedom in disguise. I wrote this because I wanted others to know that God doesn’t just meet you in your strength—He meets you in your struggle. And when you walk by faith, even through the shadows, you’ll find the light was within you all along.
This book isn’t just a journal. It’s a declaration. It’s a call to rise. No matter what you’ve lost, no matter how low you’ve been—
You. Will. Rise. Affirmation: I am not broken. I am reborn. I am not forgotten. I am chosen. I am not defined by my past. I am called for a purpose. I rise because I trust the One who walks with me through the fire.
